Britishbins Ltd

  • BritishBins wheelie bins are made in the UK and European Union.

  • Every wheelie bin we sell has been manufactured and tested to the highest standards – so you can rest assured that you are buying a high quality, durable product that will stand up to the most demanding uses.

  • A lot of cheaper bins you will come across will be made in the far east or Chinese and although they look the same cannot be compared.

Our bins are manufactured using virgin plastic and have a full strength ultraviolet additive used during the manufacturing process for added protection. Virgin resins are typically more durable on the molecular level then recycled resins and they perform better as the final product. The main benefit of using recycled resins for a wheelie bin is that the material is cheaper so the plastic pellets cost less. Wheelie bins made from recycled resins are typically more brittle then virgin counterparts. Also by not adding full strength additives, UV in the sunlight will damage the bins faster then ones with a full strength additive.

So in a nutshell our bin are made to last longer. They are also certified and tested compliant to the EN840 standard. EN840 is a Europe wide design and quality standard that ensures that all wheelie bins and lifting mechanisms safely work together. You will not have any issues with waste collectors or council bin men collecting bins as they are compatible with all refuse trucks. Refuse collectors have every right not to collect a non certified EN840 bin as they are not covered by insurance. A non certified bin could break when being lifted by a refuse truck causing death or serious injury – so also ask if your bin is EN840 complaint.
