For the first time, WPO functions will take place in Bangkok, during Propak Asia (June 12-15 – Bangkok).
It will be a very busy week for WPO (World Packaging Organisation) counting with the participation of the Executive Team and Board Members from around the globe. Besides the WPO Board Meeting, on June 14, the WorldStar Award ceremony will also take place during the show, as well as other WPO activities – Executive Meeting, Working Group Meetings, and Corporate Partners Cocktail Party. WPO Executives and Board Members will also participate at side events as the Opening Ceremony, the Global Packaging Forum, WPO-Unido Asian Round Table, and the Innovation Stage.
Luciana Pellegrino, WPO President, says, “We are looking forward to a dynamic week, gathering Board Members from different regions, whom will be involved in multiples activities as a packaging conference organized by AIP, a strategic business Round Table, an international cocktail for WPO’s Corporate Partners, the very special gala dinner for the WorldStar Awards, and WPO meetings, as well as meetings with strategic partners. This wide range of activities allow us to raise the voice for packaging and empower members to act positively in their countries. We expect the show brings together stakeholders, MNC, SME, and MSME to discuss and present sustainable and cost-effective solutions for the food & beverage, agriculture, personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and FMCG industries. And packaging is a key actor in this journey.”
About the 6th annual Global Packaging Forum, Nerida Kelton, WPO Vice President Sustainability & Save Food, explains, “The WPO is also proud to be once again supporting this Packaging Forum on June 12, with 11 Members presenting from across the globe. The Forum is organised by Informa Markets and the AIP (Australian Institute of Packaging), a WPO member, who are heavily involved in providing education and training in Asia.”
This 6th edition will have 40 speakers from 19 countries discussing global, regional and local perspectives on the state of sustainability and the circular economy for packaging. It is a one-day event and registration is free at ProPak Asia website www.propakasia.com.
Another key activity during Propak Asia will be the WorldStar award ceremony. Soha Atallah, WPO Vice President Marketing and WorldStar Coordinator, says, “We are thrilled to be organizing the WorldStar Award ceremony for the first time in Bangkok, where we will celebrate the best of the best in packaging innovation from around the globe. This year we received 435 entries from 41 countries, and we are excited to honor the 212 WorldStar winners. I am confident that the ceremony will be a magical event. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the ProPak Asia and Informa Market teams for hosting our prestigious award ceremony and gala dinner. Special categories and President Award winners will also be announced during our Award Ceremony.”
