Tim Straker, Sales Director at Fosber, has confirmed the company is set to install a series of dry-end components at UK-based Weedon PSC. The upgrades – which include a new slitter scorer and a cut-off knife – will be installed at the plant in Audenshaw near Manchester in early October. “The new components are being installed on an existing Fosber line,” confirms Straker. “The upgrades will allow Weedon to considerably increase production capacity from the machine.”
John Weedon, Managing Director of Weedon Corrugated Products, said, “The acquisition of this new equipment follows other recent investments by the Weedon Group to meet increasing demand, especially from customers who are keen to experience the sort of personalised service offered by an independent corrugated manufacturer. At the same time, we are seeing business growth in areas of Retail Ready Packaging, particularly for e-commerce and export packaging. These new Fosber dry-end components will boost our output in line with developing trends.”
