Watermans choose Easymatrix 106 CS & Diana GO 85

Watermans Printers, based in Cork, Ireland, has taken delivery of an Easymatrix 106 CS die-cutter and a Diana GO 85 folder-gluer from Heidelberg. Watermans believes that this partnership with Heidelberg will ensure the successful expansion of its business into the packaging industry as well.

Watermans Printers is a family business, founded in 1954 and offering specialised quality printing and packaging solutions to a broad customer base, both directly and indirectly. This purchase marks Watermans’ first investment into post-press packaging equipment, as it moves into this sector and plans to grow this side of the business further in the years to come.

“Going all the way back to 1954 when Watermans first opened, Heidelberg were the machines of choice for us. Today that partnership is still going strong. It was an easy fit for us as we are an all Heidelberg house,” says Wan Waterman, Managing Director.

The Easymatrix 106 CS is a die-cutter with a cutting and stripping station. It is an ideal choice for any company looking for a smooth and easy entry into the production of folding cartons. It converts a wide range of materials into cartons that are suitable for packaging and commercial applications. The machine has a maximum cutting speed of 7,700 sheets per hr, processing materials that are as thin as 90 gsm and boards that are as thick as 2,000 gsm, in formats up to a maximum size of 760 x 1060 mm.

The Diana GO 85 is a folder-gluer, suitable for materials such as 200-600 gsm solid board, E flute corrugated board and certain types of paper stocks. It can run a wide range of carton styles, including straight-line and lock bottom, as well as document wallets, envelopes, CD sleeves and some special applications, depending on the size of the product and the number of folds.
