VPK investment in Poland

A 40% capacity expansion is planned just three years after the start-up of VPK Group’s Polish packaging division. The Radomsko production site, located between Lodz and Krakow, will get an extra hall after the summer. The current machine park will be supplemented with additional equipment – good for 30 million sqm of corrugated packaging – and 15 additional employees.

In 2015, VPK expanded the existing site, (which is home for Aquila, the sheet feeder), with a sheet plant, which trades under the name VPK Packaging. Total capacity today of hte sheet plant is currently 80 million sqm.

The growth in Poland has meant the company reached its capacity quickly, so VPK Group decided to invest in the site to grow the capacity further. Construction of an extra hall is underway, creating almost 10,000 sqm of extra space. A Bobst Mastercut, a Tanabe gluer and an extra strapping and wrapping line increase the total capacity. The Göpfert die-cutter will also get a sixth colour unit to achieve high-quality printing.

The new hall and converting machines are expected to be up and running by the middle of the year. Total investment has been confirmed at €10 million.
