AMCS has confirmed that the energy recovery and recycling specialist, Viridor, has chosen AMCS as their technology partner to drive forward their digitalization program and maximise operating efficiency.
AMCS and Viridor have successfully implemented AMCS Platform at Viridor’s two Somerset facilities. This is the start of a journey that will eventually see the solution rolled out to 22 additional sites including Energy from Waste and polymer reprocessing facilities.
Dominic Howson, CIO, Viridor, said, “This is the first step of our transformation journey using the AMCS Platform and will play a key role in the increased efficiency of our tech-driven business. We are looking forward to developing a stronger partnership with AMCS as we reach our milestones for the additional sites.”
AMCS Platform is replacing a legacy weighbridge system with a cloud-based solution that also offers significant additional functionality in terms of logistics scheduling, invoicing, driver assisted terminals, automatic weighbridges and on-demand forecasting. The solution will improve the efficiency of all Viridor’s operational assets and streamline its invoicing process and production. AMCS Platform will be fully integrated into Viridor’s existing Microsoft Dynamics 365 system using AMCS’s REST APIs. As the project progresses, the platform will be extended for use in inventory management, material grading, demand planning and supplier management.
Howson added, “It has been refreshing to work with a business that recognises the need for transparency and has taken the time to understand our business. We have also valued the opportunity to draw on AMCS’s significant experience in the recycling and waste sector both in the UK and internationally. Digitalization is key to Viridor realising its ambition of a ‘building a world where nothing goes to waste’ and we look forward to continuing this journey with AMCS.”
