The Service of Quality

The relationship between New Aerodinamica and ICO goes back many years. New Aerodinamica – which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year – started working with ICO when this leading Italian corrugated producer was looking for a suitable solution for industrial aspiration.

“This is a great story of collaboration,” explains Paolo Radaelli of New Aerodinamica. “In ICO’s case, when you have to supply more than 1,500 customers who choose your corrugated boxes every day, you absolutely need to rely on top-of-the-range waste suction systems.”

ICO is well known in Italy and further afield for having received a list of important certifications, including FSC and the management systems standard, SA 8000. These two certfications could only be achieved because of the environmental of the raw materials used and the machines being used in the plants, specifically designed to meet the needs of the company. “This is where New Aerodinamica came into play,” continues Radaelli. “Thanks to a preventive study of ICO’s needs, we have built various aspiration systems over the years, which work at high speeds and with the highest precision. The first need arouse in the 1980s when we installed a highly efficient industrial suction system in the company’s Sambuceto plant.”

He continues, “The result was so positive that we won the trust of the customer, who did not hesitate to contact us to solve the problem of poor print quality caused by dust in the printing machine, more precisely in the vacuum transport circuit. We built a suction and blowing system which could reduce the dust inside the machine to 80%.”

The company also built an aspiration plant on the corrugator which maximised the production in a short time. Ventilation systems were also added on the same corrugator, with Ø1000mm pipes.

Therefore, it was necessary to make the installation process easier and reduce the space for the installation. New Aerodinamica found the solution to this problem by studying every single step and connecting the fiberglass roofing together to protect the seals against bad weather.

Radaelli concludes, “This is just one successful operation completed in a short period of time, satisfying the needs of the team at ICO.”
