Bobst UK & Ireland has taken delivery of 1,000 face shields from Swanline Group to protect its field service engineers when attending breakdowns at customer sites during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Many Bobst customers are packaging producers for the food and beverage supply chain that has been under exceptional pressure during the pandemic. Engineers at Bobst have a crucial role to play in maximising packaging machinery uptime and ensuring production lines are running at optimum capacity to meet the demand.
Swanline Group has developed a range of face visors in consultation with NHS professionals who helped to identify the key requirements for the design. Manufactured from the company’s Cygnus® Eco Board, the range has been created in response to the national call for help with the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ross Griffin, Managing Director of Swanline Paper & Board, part of Swanline Group, said, “Working in collaboration with NHS professionals, we have developed the face shields for use by health workers in care homes, as well as any other sector where employees need to be protected in the course of their work. Made from eco-friendly materials and available in plain white or an NHS Rainbow design, our single-use visors provide a good field of vision, an adjustable headband, eye protection from ingress above the eye line and are spectacle friendly. Covid-19 is impacting everyone, and our team is committed to putting its skills to good use in supporting the national effort.”
Allan Pinfold, Technical Service Manager at Bobst UK & Ireland, said, “Whilst site visits are being kept to an absolute minimum at present in order to respect the Government directives and help prevent spread of the virus, only attending where there are no other means of supporting our customers, these visors are providing extra protection to both Bobst employees and our customers. We are thankful to Swanline for designing and developing this equipment for us.”
