On the advice of its press supplier, KBA, UK-based carton converter Simply Cartons has installed a central cooling system for is latest press, a Rapida 106-6 six-colour B1 model.
This is the second technotrans central cooling system it has had and knowing the processes involved (creating a stable platform for the cooling unit and making space for the pipework to extract the hot air to the outside) meant the installation went very smoothly.
Simply Cartons describes itself as forward-thinking and organised; it knows that an eye for detail and comprehensive in-house facilities impact on quality and lead times. “Central cooling of the presses has a two-fold impact,” says Operations Director, Paul Martin. “It means that there is temperature stability which impacts the ink-water balance and the print quality. The pressroom environment is also better and that enables operators to work at their best.”
