Second site in UK for HelloFresh as meal kit business grows

The surge in online retailing has had a positive impact on many sectors. Ready-meals is certainly one area that has seen significant growth — and this can only be seen as good news for the corrugated industry.

HelloFresh has been reported to have taken a new lease on a purpose-built site, adding a further decent sized logistics space in Nuneaton, England to its UK operation. The German company, whose headquarters are in Berlin, produces and delivers meal kits to cook home-made, healthy meals with no preparation, shopping or hassle.

The new site is the company’s second UK facility, following continued success. With strong results in the market pre-COVID-19, the growth of food deliveries during lockdown and a growing demand for fresh meals to enjoy at home has accelerated expansion.

The location will receive produce and packaging from local and national suppliers, assembling the fresh ingredients in the meal kits and distributing across the country. HelloFresh delivered more than 280 million meals in 2019, reaching over four million customers in the last quarter. It is one of the largest players globally in the meal kit market, now operating in thirteen countries across three continents.
