Rengo increases prices across the board

Rengo has confirmed that it will revise the prices of its containerboard, other paperboard and corrugated packaging in Japan.

Since Rengo announced the revision of prices in November 2021, it says the global surge in raw material and fuel prices has been further intensifying against the backdrop of the situation between Russia and Ukraine, and subsidiary materials and logistics costs continue to rise. The company says it continues to strive to maintain prices through thorough cost reduction, but along with the ongoing depreciation of the yen, it is extremely difficult for them to bear further cost increases through its own efforts alone. For these reasons, Rengo will be revising its prices as set out below.

  • Containerboard – an increase of 15 yen or more per kg over current prices will be applied to all consignments delivered from September 1, 2022 onwards.
  • Other paperboard (boxboard, tube board, chipboard) – an increase of 15 yen or more per kg over current prices will be applied to all consignments delivered from September 1, 2022 onwards.
  • Corrugated packaging – prices will be determined on an individual basis based on the actual rise in factors such as energy cost, subsidiary materials, and logistics costs at the corrugated plant, in addition to the increase due to the containerboard price revision.
