Given the tight balance of supply versus demand for recycled casemaking papers across Europe, a new round of price increases have been announced.
DS Smith informed customers back in June of a €50 per tonne for recycled grades as of 1st July. By the end of June, SAICA confirmed a UK price increase of £45 per tonne and €55 per ton for Spain and Portugal. Smurfit Kappa have announced a €50 per tonne increase for brown recycled grades for all European markets as of 3rd July.
The increasing price of recycled casemaking papers reflects rising input costs (including OCC) and continued strong demand.
