Celebrating its 40th year in business, UK based Boxes and Packaging (Doncaster) Ltd has ordered a Dong Fang two colour printer slotter with rotary die cut facility, along with a new pallet press and material handling equipment, which will allow the plant to move to a two shift plant bringing jobs to the local community.
“This investment will allow us to increase the manufacturing capacity at Doncaster significantly resulting in a uplift in capacity and facilitate the growth vision of achieving £12 million turnover by 2019,” said Stacey Austin, Managing Director of Boxes and Packaging (Doncaster) Ltd. “We will be able to expand our product range opening up new market opportunities as well as maintaining the high levels of service and professionalism for which we are well known.”
The new machine will replace an aged printer and will be installed over a period of two months while civil engineering, installation and commissioning takes place. Capable of processing over 10,000 sheets of board per hour, the Dong Fang is a popular machine within the Logson Group with Boxes and Packaging (Swindon) and Jardin in Cambridge both benefitting from the impressive production it offers.
“Over the next nine months it will be necessary to increase our staff by 20% creating ten new full time jobs,” said Stacey. “As well as the investment being hugely positive for our business growth, it is also positive to the local community creating employment opportunities in a secure and stable business.”
The installation will be carried out by M&K Trading and will be undertaken while the factory remains in full operation. In addition to the machine installation, an upgrade to the waste extraction system will take place. This latest investment will be implemented just a matter of months after the relocation of a Klett gluer from Boxes and Packaging (Merseyside) to the group’s Doncaster site to cope with an increase in demand in the Yorkshire, Humber and North East regions.
