Georgia-based Peachtree Packaging & Display has been named a Gwinnett County “Manufacturer of the Year” for 2020 by Partnership Gwinnett’s “Movers & Makers Manufacturing & Supply Chain Awards.” Peachtree won the award in the category of medium size manufacturer and was recognized at its annual event March 5, 2020. This is the second year Peachtree Packaging has been recognized by Partnership Gwinnett. The company was named the Most Valuable Provider in 2019, an award that requires nomination by the local business community.
Chad Wagner, President and CEO of Peachtree Packaging, accepted the award at a breakfast at Infinite Energy Forum on March 5. More than 350 community leaders and industry experts were present, as well as Amazon Director of Regional Operations Robert Packett, who gave the keynote, and the Peachtree Packaging leadership team.
“Peachtree Packaging & Display has been thriving in Gwinnett County for 40 years. Being recognized as a ‘2020 Manufacturer of the Year’ and the ‘2019 MVP’ by Partnership Gwinnett is a huge honor,” Wagner said. “We are committed to investing in industry-leading equipment, advanced technology, and a homegrown staff so we can continue our winning streak for many years to come.”
The company employs more than 150 workers and occupies 250,000 sq ft of manufacturing space at two facilities. It produces around one million sq ft of product daily. Managing that amount of materials requires innovation, such as the 2018 purchase of a Gopfert five-color dual-diecutting press that allowed it to move from 17 pieces of equipment to eight, while still increasing production output by 10,000 full-size sheets/hour or more than 180,000,000 additional sq ft yearly.
