Leonhard Kurz, an international specialist in thin-film technology, has installed a state-of-the-art NOVAFOIL 106 H hot stamping machine in its application technology department in Fürth, deepening its partnership with BOBST. With the highly specialised hot stamping machine, both companies want to drive forward developments and revolutionise the possibilities for packaging finishing.
With hot stamping finishing, aesthetic designs can be realised quickly, precisely and efficiently. Finishing expert Kurz has decades of expertise in hot stamping in the graphics industry and is constantly driving innovation. The company has in-depth know-how in the areas of transfer products, hot stamping tools and the use of hot stamping machines. Kurz hot stamping products are extensively tested in the company’s application technology department and can be optimised according to specific customer requirements. With Bobst, Kurz now has a strong partner at its side to realise hot stamping finishes in the best possible way. “We look forward to further developing innovative hot stamping solutions together with Bobst and are proud to offer our customers the best service and the highest product standards,” says Dr. Laurin Leeb, Head of International Product Management Business Area Industrial, Kurz.
Bobst has developed the Novafoil 106 printing machine specifically for the finishing of cartonboard packaging and boxes and has added a new hot stamping module for this purpose. A combination of extended dwell time, high embossing pressure and constant temperature ensure exceptional embossing precision and the best possible finishing quality for sheets up to a width of 106cm. The new Novafoil 106 H hot stamping machine has been available in the application technology department at Kurz since the beginning of February to test and optimise hot stamping finishes, especially holographic embossing, down to the smallest detail. Holographic hot stamping designs in particular are so complex that they are used worldwide in product protection, but are also used for decorative purposes. With the Novafoil 106 H, they can be embossed in a single pass. The machine has up to 10 different hologram modules, making it a unique tool in the finishing industry. “We are delighted to have this unique opportunity to showcase this exceptional machine here at Kurz and deepen our relationship to create synergies and develop new and exciting technologies,” says Bodo Junge, Product Manager for Hot Stamping, Bobst.
Together with Bobst, Kurz sets new standards in efficiency and quality and enables brand owners and processors to present their products in the best possible way and create hot stamping finishes with real added value. Thanks to extensive test systems in the Kurz application technology department, customers benefit from a high level of safety and reliability when using the transfer products.
