The Panther Group is investing in additional converting equipment in 2017 to further improve productivity, quality and capacity together with increased levels of service. A second three-colour rotary diecutter (2.8m) with various state-of-the-art features will be installed at its Bottrop site to increase capacity. RRK Wellpappenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG was operating at capacity in 2016, so this investment will significantly expand its production volume.
Investment is also taking place in two of the Group’s companies simultaneously at its Wustermark location. Panther Display GmbH & Co. KG installed an additional flatbed diecutter in February to expand the strongly growing displays business. Panther Display had already doubled the production building area in 2016 to create space for the new machine. In addition, Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, also in Wustermark, will take delivery of a four-colour inline machine (2.4m) this year to relieve the load on existing processing machines which are currently all running on a 3-shift system and are already at full capacity. Moreover, their 2.8m rotary diecutter, which was only installed in 2016, will be fitted with an additional three print units, including drying, to satisfy customers’ increasing requirements for high-quality printed packaging.
The Panther Group companies will also invest in logistics in 2017 to automate production processes further and to increase quality and reduce costs.
