The jubilee year 2022, in which the 120th anniversary of the Panther Group is celebrated, is also a year for setting new directions in all plants and at the headquarters, leading to a CO2-neutral future.
Sustainable development has been an integral part of the corporate strategy for many years. With the promise ‘Panther for Planet’ logo, the company is now sending a clear and consistent signal for this commitment and further development. As part of sustainability management, the Group is continuously geared towards resource conservation, environmental protection, climate relevance and emission reduction in all relevant areas of activity.
With the reduced colour design of the new label, it is already visually clearly visualised that climate-friendly design, material reduction and resource-saving production are top priorities in all Panther plants. As a company that acts responsibly, the team define their own goals with foresight, taking into account possible conflicts of interest between environmentally conscious action and the quality of all products and services. A holistic approach is the prerequisite for this. The new ‘Panther for Planet’ approach is therefore replacing the Panther pro nature label, which has been in use for many years.
Supported by a long-term orientation, the Panther Group always strives to make a contribution to the protection and preservation of the environment (soil, air and water) and to specifically minimize its own CO2 footprint. This includes the effects of the products on the CO2 emissions of the entire value chain from raw material production to corrugated board production and processing to delivery to the customer. Along these lines, the Panther Group strives for the reduction and substitution of emission-intensive drivers – while maintaining the same and even increasing the quality of the products. Measures and goals have been defined taking into account the respective circumstances of individual locations. This includes the fact that the entire Panther Group has been using CO2-neutral electricity since 2021, to name just one example.
