On 15th and 16th September, Thimm Verpackung celebrated the official opening of its new Holledau plant in Bavaria, Germany, together with customers, employees, residents, local politicians and the Deputy Minister-President of Bavaria and Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Ilse Aigner.
State-of-the-art production technologies, efficient and highly-automated processes coupled with a flexible, customer-oriented organisation with a comprehensive service element are just some of the highlights of one of the most advanced plants in Europe. Testament to this is the installation of the latest generation rotary and flat bed die-cutting equipment in addition to the high-tech corrugator. Another feature to be highlighted is the high degree of automation and the part-automated set-up process on the rotary-die cutter.
The favourable geographical location of the plant between Munich and Nuremberg links important economic metropolitan areas within Germany as well as the adjacent export markets. Thimm has reinforced its own production network with eight sites in Western, Central and Eastern Europe and specifically when combined with its sister-plants in Alzey (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Všetaty (Czech Republic), customers in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Switzerland have the security of reliable deliveries.
