Obituary – Duncan Ian McInnes (D.I.McI)

It is with much sadness that we record the death of Duncan Ian McInnes on 27th February. He passed peacefully with Gwenda, Philippa and Alasdair by his side.

“Poacher turned game keeper”, the box business was his passion starting out with RCC through ReedPack and finally SCA before venturing into the world of consultancy with Spectra, DS Smith and then the Alternative Pallet Company. His work in the UK took him to London before moving on to Aylesford, back to London, then West Drayton (Packet Boat House), once more back to Aylesford then on to Warrington, Windsor, Louth and Wellingborough.

He met his future wife Gwenda undertaking voluntary work for the civil trust planting trees – a good investment for his future career! Married in 1965 he leaves 3 children and 2 grandchildren. He was much loved by all who knew him. His passing will leave an enormous hole in the lives of his family, his friends and those who had crossed paths with him in the corrugated industry – or when he was out walking the dog!
