Antalis Packaging has added a burst test machine and two new corrugated testing machines at its Leicestershire-based Smart Packaging Centre (SPC) to help customers to further evaluate current or new packaging solutions.
The new TLS Samples Crush Tester CDM-5 is capable of performing a number of different tests, including ring crush, edge crush and flat crush testing, while the new TLS VALIDATOR PLUS-50 compression testing machine tests corrugated boxes and other materials up to a pressure of 50kN.
To test bursting strength, the TLS Bursting Strength Tester Mullen BT-10 enables the team to assess how much pressure a corrugated box, or other paper material, can withstand before failing.
The new additions to the SPC means Antalis now has the facility to gain accurate readings and performance parameters for a range of different values required to make a successful shipping container.
