Vega Srl is going to open the doors of its plant in Paderno Dugnano (MI) Italy, to show its new technologies and innovations realised with a fully automated solution for corrugated board.
‘The Vega Program: Mission to the Universe 2024’ represents a mission towards the most important events happening in 2024; the first event of the year is going to be Vega’s Open House, a three days event where Vega’s automatic technologies will be displayed and tested on 12th, 13th and 14th March. The focus will be on the Altair GT folder gluer, equipped with EASYPACK and ROTOPACK combined with the SMB COR strapping machine.
The combination of these state-of-the-art machines allows the total automation of the process; during the open house, numerous demonstrations will take place to showcase all the new technologies. Many different job changes will be made to demonstrate the potential of this combined solution.
Vega says that its Altair GT is the ultimate evolution of the historical Vega folder gluer for corrugated, built up to be most user-friendly as possible. Customisation is maximised, as a distinctive feature of all Vega machines is their modularity which allows a tailor-made production according to customer needs.
The Altair GT model shown during the Open House is size 200 and is equipped with extra modules: 4/6 corners, ejector and pressure rollers. Moreover, it comes with the innovative camera gap control, an optional camera that allows the automatic control of the fish tail issue through recursive algorithm. Also, the frame for the positioning of the glue guns is designed with an innovative solution, dedicated to precision and setup time saving. The gun support slides automatically on a linear guide and released and locked pneumatically. This permits a simple, safe and faster positioning of the glue guns, avoiding the need for the operator to get inside the machine.
To complete the line, Vega Easypack counts and separates the shingled boxes right from the pressure belt of the folder gluer to create semi parcels of boxes ready to be palletised by Vega Rotopack. This module rotates, flips or overlaps each single bundle, and prepares it for the best palletisation process. Rotopack can palletise up to six semi-bundles in one pack of boxes, before the automatic strapping operation. The Rotopack module shown during the open house is connected to SMB COR, among the most variable strapping machine for folded boxes, in order to fully automate the complete production process.
The “Mission to the Open House” will take place in Vega’s plant in Paderno Dugnano (MI) – Italy from 12th to 14th March. Booking is recommended as seats are limited. For more information, visit www.vegagroup.it/open-house-2024-en/
