Corrugated and Packaging LLC (C&P) and its parent company U.S. Corrugated Holdings Inc. has entered into a strategic alliance with Bio Pappel to integrate and increase their regional presence in the U.S. and Northwest Mexico. As a result, Bio Pappel’s Mexicali super plant that is supported by a 98-inch BHS corrugator and 10 converting machines is now under operational control of C&P. The alliance was effective April 5, 2019.
In a letter to customers, David Ortiz, Senior VP, Sales and Marketing, U.S. Corrugated, said the consolidation of the Mexicali super plant with the C&P facilities in Tijuana is an important part of the combined company’s market strategy to grow the business. “With this acquisition, C&P’s combined facilities in Tijuana and Mexicali will serve a wide range of consumer, agricultural and industrial markets with large scale diecuts, shipping cartons, large format boxes and high graphics,” he wrote.
Investments in the facility will continue with the installation of a new 89- x 165-inch Latitude Jumbo three-color flexo folder-gluer with an in-line diecut section that will be operational by May, along with a Barberan Jetmaster digital press.
