At the end of last year, over 90 industry professionals in the commercial and packaging sectors from the Adriatic region attended the Roland Evolution Open House event at Lana Karlovačka Tiskara d.d. in Karlovac, one of the biggest and most respected printers of pharmaceutical and food packaging in the region.
An introductory speech was delivered by Dr. Mario Barišić, CEO of Manroland Adriatic who thanked Mr. Nikola Hanžel, owner and CEO of the Lana Group for making the event possible. The print sessions were divided into two sections. The theoretical presentations were headed by Jürgen Holtrode, Regional Sales Director, Manroland Sheetfed GmbH and Dr. Mario Barišić, CEO of Manroland Adriatic. Leading the live demonstrations was Jens Kaiser, an expert from the Print Technology Center in Offenbach and Tomislav Medjurečan, Head of Service, Manroland Adriatic.
The commercial session took place on the Roland 702P Evolution perfector press which demonstrated high speed printing on fine 45gsm substrates for the pharmaceutical industry, successfully printing more than 13,000 sheets per hour. The folding carton demonstration, conducted on the Roland 706LV Evolution with simultaneous plate loading and UV, impressively printed an array of folding cartons, including chocolate boxes made up and presented to the guests at the end of the event.
Guests witnessed how several jobs can be printed in the shortest time by using Simultaneous Plate Loading (SPL) to reduce make ready times and the QuickChange functions together with the InLineColorPilot feature, which helps also to reduce waste. During demonstrations on aluminium coated board, the audience were impressed at the ease and speed of printing opaque white, UV-inks and effect coatings.
Guest speaker, Mr. Nenad Janošev, Technical Director of Palladio East, a leading Serbian print company and a long-standing user of Manroland presses, gave a testimonial on Manroland’s latest Evolution technology installed at their facility in Vršac.
Jürgen Holtrode, Regional Sales Director, Manroland Sheetfed GmbH congratulated Manroland Adriatic on a very successful event which saw a record number of attendees “Manroland Adriatic has now sold five Evolution presses in a short period of time and such is the growth in the Adriatic region that Manroland has opened an office in Serbia with local technical support,” he said.
