UK-based Encase have purchased a Lamina taper/gluer for its Leeds site, for the production of small to medium run lengths of e-commerce book wraps and mail misers.
Group Sales Manager, Mike Hartley said, “We have been assessing the e-commerce market for some time and we have been looking to buy a machine that offered complete flexibility across many specifications. The Lamina allows us to run many different types of adhesive peel and seal tape, while simultaneously adding rippa-tape, which complements what we already do in terms of longer run length tape application on our corrugator at Banbury. We have the added benefit that the Lamina also allows us to glue long thin cases, such as fluorescent light tube boxes and poster boxes, which is something that has been missing from our portfolio.”
Richard Walton, Group Managing Director said, “This investment is in line with our more recent investments at Banbury and East Kilbride in being customer facing. Our current three year plan is all about broadening our offering – taking us from being a competent case making company into being a broader packaging solutions provider that can combine the latest technologies in offering both plain and decorative protective packaging.”
