KBA North America announces that it has been named the North American exclusive distributor for the newly-acquired flatbed diecutter manufacturer Iberica AG S.A. by its parent company, Koenig & Bauer. The new subsidiary, KBA-Iberica Die Cutters S.A., is a Barcelona-based producer of medium- and large-format flatbed diecutters for board and corrugated packaging. The distributorship begins January 1, 2017 with sales, service and parts support for new and existing customers.
“We are honored to be named the exclusive distributor for KBA-Iberica Die Cutters S.A’s medium- and large-format flatbed diecutters in North America,” says Mark Hischar, president and CEO of KBA North America. “Iberica has a superb reputation in its market. With this acquisition, our parent company is underscoring its focus on the growing packaging market delivering 70% of its presses to folding carton printers. KBA has cemented its reputation as the longstanding market leader in folding carton printing. By adding flatbed diecutters to our portfolio for the same customer group provides an opportunity for KBA to expand its strong market position. This acquisition of Iberica by KBA will support the strategic interests of both companies. We are certain that we will be able to offer our well known high-level of service, expertise and parts support to this important market and Iberica’s current customer base.”
Founded January 1, 1940, Iberica has been dedicated for 64 years to the production of machinery for the printing and packaging industry. It is reportedly the second largest manufacturer of diecutting and creasing machines in the world.
As KBA continues to grow and expand, the firm is actively seeking to hire technical support staff for its latest acquisition. If interested, please send resumes to [email protected]
