Smurfit Kappa has announced a major investment in a high quality offset printer, which is the first of its kind in Europe. The innovative KBA hybrid offset printer and laminator is capable of printing both UV and conventional colours. The printer will be used for both Litho and Display operations. In addition to the new seven-colour offset printer, Smurfit Kappa is also upgrading its Display business with a sophisticated new laminator to extend its customer offering in Scandinavia.
“These exciting investments reflect a great opportunity to raise the bar and lead the new reality we are seeing in today’s market. The demands placed on packaging quality continue to increase, as does the need to produce cost-effective packaging and displays on a small scale,” said Carl-Oscar Carlsson, Marketing Manager Offset & Display at Smurfit Kappa Sweden.
“This investment package increases our printing and laminating capacity, which allow us to be more flexible and strengthen our market offering. We are investing in the most advanced technology to be able to creatively solve our customers’ most challenging needs and to support their growth,” continued Claes Bjäreholt, CEO of Smurfit Kappa Sweden.
