AICC and Board Converting News announced Geo M. Martin as the winner of the ‘Innovator of the Year Award’ during SuperCorrExpo®.
Geo. M. Martin earned the top accolade for their innovative SmartShingle system, which effectively minimises or eliminates feed interrupts during stack or bundle discharges, addressing a significant operational challenge in die-cutting.
The SmartShingle system solves an industry-wide problem where up to 10,000 sheets can be lost in a single 8-hour shift due to feed interruptions during stack or bundle discharges. In most die-cut configurations, SmartShingle allows for a seamless workflow and enhances production efficiency by eliminating the need for these interruptions.
SUN Automation won second place for the SUN 625HD, a heavy-duty 66-inch rotary die-cutter. Bahmuller took third place for Unique Turn, a high-speed turning module for specialty folder-gluers.
Each year, the AICC/ Board Converting News Innovator of the Year Competition highlights advancements in packaging, with categories rotating annually. The 2025 competition will spotlight Information Technology/Training and will be open to both general and associate AICC member companies. Entries for this highly event will begin in Summer 2025.
