UK based cold foiling specialists, Foiltone Ltd, have enjoyed their best first quarter yet with installations already completed in the Middle East and Europe to be followed by new machines in the UK, South and Central America and New Zealand.
Their cold foiling unit has been installed on a Roland 700. It has the latest version of the Foiltone foil saving software and has been giving up to 50% savings on foil usage. The Foiltone foil saving system has been installed at many printers over the past four years. The system has been developed and improved over that time and is now a mature technology giving consistent results to its users.
The company has specialised in bespoke installations designed to meet each individual customer’s needs. Their recent installation in Europe is the second machine purchased by the same customer. It is a cast and cure unit complete with its own blanket cylinder and impression assembly.
The illustration below shows another Roland 700 that was originally installed with twin dryers between twin coaters. The first dryer has been removed and the Foiltone unit mounted over the impression cylinder where it used to be. The blanket cylinder has full impression depth control and is geared in register to the press. The result is the press has full use of all printing and coating towers with full or spot finish cast and cure at press speed without any need for a second pass.
