Billboard Media Print Group in Melbourne, Australia, has confirmed it has purchased the first EFI Nozomi C18000 digital corrugated press in Australia. The machine can print up to 3m x 1.8m at high speeds and high resolution directly onto corrugated board. It has run speeds of up to 8,100 sqm per hour on multiple board thickness.
“This machine will redefine sustainability in corrugated board production, it will allow customers to eliminate wasteful warehousing routines for analogue printed packaging, with leaner ‘just in time’ inventory,” says David Zeunert, Sales Director of the Australian print service provider. “The operators are currently in Spain receiving training on the press and we expect to take delivery of the new digital press during 2017.”
The machine was first presented to the industry at Drupa in May.
