FC Cartons, the UK-based provider of specialist carton finishing solutions, has confirmed that Ryan Trimmer becomes the first successful candidate to join its new Apprenticeship program in Castle Donington. This will enable the comapny to have sustainable industry skills throughout the business.
David Woodyatt, Managing Director, explains, “Having discussed our needs with Carl Roberts from Matrix Training and explaining the role we had in mind for a machine operator apprentice in our die-cutting facility, we interviewed potential candidates over a number of weeks. Ryan joins us after completing a year’s course in Engineering at Derby College and has continued his development by working through an NVQ level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing Operations onsite at FC. Carl from Matrix makes regular visits to see how Ryan is getting on with his NVQ and also to monitor his progress within the business, especially within the die cutting and creasing process. The Apprentice programme is ongoing and we look forward to giving more young people the opportunity to learn new skills across all our capabilities and join our highly talented team.”
