Faller Packaging has published its sustainability report for 2019. Under the title ‘New values for a successful collaboration’, the pharmaceutical packaging producer looks back on a successful business year and shows how economic, ecological and social responsibility go hand in hand in a company.
The group of companies with its headquarters in Waldkirch, Baden, increased its sales by almost 10% to almost €145m – a new record. Both the German sites and the subsidiaries in Denmark and Poland saw strong development. The subsidiary PackEx GmbH, founded the previous year, also started well, commencing full production in the second half of 2019. Faller Packaging also acquired Pharma Print Kft, a company which produces package inserts in Debrecen, Hungary. This new location gives Faller additional expertise and capacity in the manufacture of package inserts, and it will also help the company to serve its customers with even greater speed and a more efficient breadth of support along the entire value chain.
“Our philosophy is to harmonise economic success, ecological responsibility and social commitment,” explains Michael Faller, Managing Partner of the Faller Packaging Group.
In line with this philosophy, Faller’s report also provides interesting insights into the company’s ecological footprint. For example, it has managed to reduce energy consumption (and consequently CO2 emissions) in relation to output volume at almost all its German sites. The amount of hazardous waste per tonne of printing material has been significantly reduced and Faller also obtains its essential raw materials from certified sources and supports environmental protection projects.
