Fosber recently held a press conference to introduce the expansion project of its production site. The project was presented by Marco Bertola, CEO, Fosber Group, and Andrea Bonfanti, Mayor of Pescaglia.
Founded in Lucca in 1978, the group now employs over 800 people worldwide. In 1985, Fosber established its presence in Monsagrati (Pescaglia LU), an industrial area halfway between Lucca and Viareggio. Over time, the company experienced growth in terms of revenue, production, personnel, and economic impact, necessitating more space to expand its headquarters and effectively address future challenges.
This project will significantly transform an industrial area established years ago into a Fosber hub. After months of studies, the preliminary phase has concluded and the company is ready to present the expansion of its headquarters, resulting in a total area of circa 58,600 sqm.
“We are excited to announce this project,” commented Bertola. “We have considered other locations for a possible expansion, but we came to the conclusion that our strength lies where our roots are deep. We would like to thank Mayor Bonfanti and the entire administrative team for their demonstrated support and collaboration. We found a valuable partner in the municipality of Pescaglia since the beginning and will begin the construction within this year. We also would like to thank Dong Fang Group for choosing to invest €45m in the province of Lucca for this project. Their decision enhances the Italian manufacturing industry and Lucca.”
“We can only express great satisfaction for such a significant investment made by Fosber and Dong Fang in Valfreddana Valley, Monsagrati – Pescaglia (LU). This result is also the outcome of shared work between the municipality and the company, aimed at creating conditions for Fosber not only to remain in the area but also to successfully complete this ambitious expansion project,” said Andrea Bonfanti, Mayor of Pescaglia. “The expansion will breathe new life into the industrial district of Monsagrati, with a positive impact on the whole area; this will also mean an increase in people working in the district and, consequently, the creation of a new economic impact for the area in terms of the presence of people and potential customers for commercial activities, as well as an expected secondary impact that will bring additional families to live in Valfreddana. The investment made by Fosber and Dong Fang Group in Pescaglia, a small municipality that is revitalising with the possibility of new jobs, is even more commendable. It is in the municipality’s interest for the work to start as soon as possible.”
The new facility will extend on both sides of the street within the Valfreddana Valley and will be a place dedicated to efficiency and well-being for both customers and workers, including services tailored to them. The project represents a substantial economic investment and a tangible demonstration of Dong Fang Group and Fosber Group’s commitment to sustainable growth and development. All environments will be optimised and streamlined with a focus on reducing consumption. Furthermore, a 3MW power generation plant will be installed to make the new structure environmentally friendly and self-sufficient, ensuring a reduced environmental impact.
