Wilhelm Bahmüller Maschinenbau Präzisionswerkzeuge GmbH was founded in Plüderhausen more than 70 years ago. Since then, the product portfolio has continuously developed and today, ranges from the three divisions of precision grinding machines for fine machining of small components, to fully automated and linked converting lines for corrugated packaging, to individual precision tools machining centers.
The company, with its three highly specialised business segments, is well respected globally. Order intake has grown steadily over the past three years. In 2015, a turnover of €68 million was achieved is expected to reach €87 million for 2018. This corresponds to a total growth of 28% in three years, with an average annual growth of 9.3%, which is significantly more than the average growth in the mechanical engineering sector.
This positive development can also be seen in the number of jobs. In 2018, the number of employees is expected to rise 10% to 356. In the field of apprenticeship, the number will increase to 27 trainees, which correspondence to 7.5% to the total number of employees.
A ground-breaking ceremony on 22nd March laid the foundation for the expansion of the production and assembly areas and fully supports the successful development of the last three years. The completion of the new building is planned for August/September 2018. This will help to reduce the long lead time to a normal level of 8 to 12 months, depending on complexity of equipment.
