Printing industry leaders, including corrugated and folding carton converters, found cutting-edge digital technology solutions at EFI (Electronics for Imaging, Inc.) Connect 2019, Jan. 22-24 at the Wynn Las Vegas. This was the 20th anniversary of the user’s conference, which featured more than 200 educational and breakout sessions, product demonstrations, keynote presentations and vendor sponsored exhibits. Keynote and general session presenters included new EFI CEO Bill Muir; Joseph Popolo, CEO of The Freeman Co.; fashion designer Ariel Swedroe; Olivier Gariépy and Michel Savoie of the Cirque du Soleil® Costume Workshop; EFI CFO Marc Olin; and Gabriel Matsliach, Senior Vice President and General Manager, EFI Productivity Software.
Matsliach presented the latest enhancements for the Nozomi C18000 high-speed, single-pass inkjet press, which now includes new print modes, a new white ink feature, and a top feeder. He also presented an overview of Productivity Suite 7, which will be released in the second quarter. The new release includes a QuickQuote interface for quoting and estimating jobs quickly. The next generation of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) platform and scheduling solution known as CorrPlan gives users even greater control for scheduling, order promising, estimating, digital workflows and roll stock analysis.
A more in-depth article about Connect will be featured in the spring issue of Digital Print for Corrugated and the March/April issue of Corrugated Today.
