DS Smith Recycling has announced a new senior appointment to support its ambitious pan-European growth plans. Hans Werner Brocke joins the business as Managing Director for Central Europe (Recycling) with immediate effect.
With extensive industry experience, Brocke joins DS Smith from his role as a director of Stanton Chase. Previously, he has held roles at packaging specialists EuroPack and Smurfit Kappa, as well as gaining experience in the food industry with Bernard Zabler GmbH. In his new role, Brocke will be responsible for developing customer relationships and driving growth plans across the region.
Jochen Behr, Head of Recycling at DS Smith, commented, “We’re delighted to welcome Hans to the team. With considerable experience gained at senior management level, he brings a deep understanding of the paper, packaging, and recycling industries. “Hans will play a critical role in the continued expansion of DS Smith in Central Europe, and I’d like to wish him every success in this exciting new position.”
Brocke’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for DS Smith. In July, the company published its landmark Sustainability Strategy – a set of far-reaching commitments through which the business intends to lead the way in sustainability.
On his appointment at DS Smith, Brocke commented, “This is truly an exciting time to be joining DS Smith. The business demonstrates a real appetite for growth and leadership. I am looking forward to bringing my experience to a company committed to providing world-class services and products to its customers.”
