Connected Automation in Action: highlights from Komori’s Global Package Show

Komori hosted the Global Package Show at its Tsukuba Factory in Japan, bringing the latest advancements in packaging printing to the forefront. With a strong focus on Connected Automation, the event showcased how innovative technologies can drive efficiency, quality, and sustainability in print production.

One of the standout solutions was the Komori GLX740 with double coater and double pile delivery recognised for its stable printing quality, increased uptime, and enhanced profitability. With fast changeover times and easy operation, this press ensures seamless and efficient production. Alongside this, the PQA-S system demonstrated how precision colour control and content inspection ensure superior consistency by significantly reducing production defects by separating defective sheets into a second delivery. Additionally, Smart Inking Flow was highlighted as a key efficiency driver, optimising ink flow to lower energy consumption, enhance image sharpness, and reduce maintenance costs.

Komori’s vision of the Smart Factory was brought to life through KP-Connect Pro, serving as the core system that connects multicolour presses and integrates seamlessly with AMRs (autonomous mobile robots). This combination showcased how automation can streamline operations, boost productivity, and maintain the highest quality standards. The Global Package Show reinforced the future of packaging print, where innovation and automation go hand in hand to transform production processes.
