For POS and Display FacilityBuilding work was completed this month at Cepac’s Doncaster site. The £1 million project expands the UK independent corrugated packaging producer’s Point of Sale & Display and specialist short-run packaging facility. In addition to providing increased factory space for increased production and fulfilment provision, the development significantly improves the customer experience by creating new facilities where clients can get closer to the design process, from concept to production.
With investment in new technology (Cepac installed an HP Scitex 17000 Corrugated Press in April last year), more space was required for increased finishing, stock and shipping operations. The expansion of the site also strengthens Cepac’s fulfilment capability and capacity. As an HP Global Development Partner, Cepac has access to the very latest digital technology and has been working closely with HP to optimise advances in reprographics and colour management.
Cepac Doncaster General Manager, Mark Hextall, explained that the newly-completed expansion allows the customer and design team to work even more efficiently and creatively together, “Our designers are very much part of the customer team and everything we do in POS is bespoke. It’s hugely beneficial to have the whole team and our customer partners working closely together to maximise a product’s potential.”
Cepac’s investment in digital technologies offers customers greater speed to market and ultimate flexibility, particularly in the fast-moving retail sector. Hextall continued, “Planning is happening at the same pace it always did but we’re finding that decisions are being left much later as customers need to respond rapidly to market requirements. Our digital offering in POS & Display and innovative short run packaging gives our clients the flexibility to be more responsive than ever before to retail needs.”
