Burgo Group, the Italian graphic and specialty paper manufacturer, has confirmed it is set to enter the recycled containerboard market, as it plans to convert its fine paper mill in Avezzano to produce recycled corrugated base papers.
The conversion project, which will cost the company around €20 million, will be focused on the idled PM2. The company has said the machine will be able to run Testliner and fluting, with an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes per year. Production start-up is scheduled for the end of the year.
