Bobst UK & Ireland is celebrating another successful charity golf day raising more than £5,270 in aid of the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) Benevolent Fund. The company invited 15 teams from across the print and packaging industries to compete in a round of golf at Abbey Hotel & Golf Club to raise funds for the charity supported by sponsorship from suppliers, customers and partners.
“We’re delighted that once again we were able to raise a considerable amount for DMRC,” commented organiser Doris Morrison, Chief Financial Officer at Bobst UK & Ireland. “With our supporters’ help, we’ve been able to contribute to the important work they do for injured service personnel.”
With its history beginning shortly after the end of World War II, the DMRC Benevolent Fund provides support and specialist equipment to military servicemen and women undergoing mental or physical rehabilitation at its Stanford Hall premises. The centre provides critical care to those who have been injured serving their country, often dealing with complex life-changing injuries or trauma. The charity day included a presentation from a patient at DMRC, Tom Francis, who explained the important work that the charity carries out.
Bobst has been supporting DMRC with fundraising initiatives since 2016, organising raffles, auctions, assault courses and other events in support of the charity’s vital work. “We would like to extend its thanks to those who generously supported the charity golf day and helped make it a success,” concluded Morrison.
