Over 50 international companies from the corrugated industry were present at an Open House event held at Barberán’s facilities in Castelldefels, Barcelona, on 26th-27th October. The company used the event to introduce the latest Jetmaster 1890, its new six colour printer (CMYK + Orange and Violet). Attendees had the opportunity to see the machine running at high speed (over 6,500 sqm per hour) as well as see the quality of the printed sheets.
During the event, live demonstrations on 1.89m width corrugated sheets and double feeding with a different design in each sheet were undertaken. In addition to the demonstrations, ink manufacturers – TOYO Inks and Chimigraf – talked about UV inks, low migration and indirect food contact. There was also a presentation about the impact of integrating digital into a corrugated plant, presented by Hinojosa Group.
Barberán started making Industrial digital printing machines in 2007. After having supplied several production lines in the wood and PVC industry, in 2013 the first complete production line to the corrugated industry was supplied to Hinojosa. This was followed in 2014 with a machine for Smurfit Kappa and in 2015 to Bennett Packaging in USA, Abbe Corrugated in Australia and Ondapack Sud in Italy. The company has confirmed that four more lines are to be installed before next spring.
