Packaging professionals from across the world gathered in Utah for Arden Software’s Peak Performance Conference (APPC). APPC 2019 took place in Park City during June bringing together leading figures from the packaging, carton and corrugated sectors including designers, die-makers, CAD experts, technicians, brand owners, sign makers and converters.
Now, in its fifth year, APPC is hosted bi-annually by Arden Software to provide a hands-on learning and training experience for those involved in the packaging supply chain. More than 80 people attended the four-day event, discovering the latest innovations in Arden’s packaging design software Impact, as well as its other software solutions including workflow management tool – WEBcnx.
Jim Silianoff, President and CEO of Arden Software North America, said, “APPC 2019 has been a special year for Arden, as it coincided with the latest release of our Impact software. Our guests from across the packaging sector were able to get up close and hands-on with our latest software product versions and discover new tricks and knowledge that will help them add value to their business and products. Attendees were also some of the first to share in and contribute to our product road-maps, which forms a key part of this event and is an approach that has proven to be critical to the success and value of our future product releases. It was a great success and we’ve had some fantastic feedback from our attendees, who were able to network, share knowledge and ideas and gain an exclusive insight into the future of packaging.”
This event also previewed Arden’s most significant Impact CAD development undertaking to date, when delegates were given an exclusive, early glimpse of Arden’s next generation parametric design engine. Silianoff added, “This highly anticipated update, which enriches the entire use of the product’s design and editing capabilities moves away from the legacy history-based approach to parametrics. It not only captures the designer’s intent as they draw, but also offers the advantage that any existing or imported drawing can be resized quickly and effortlessly. This next phase in packaging design is scheduled to be available to our customers as soon as next year.”
Other well received features during APPC included Arden’s latest graphic handling enhancements delivered across its product range, the new ‘live proof’ module for WEBcnx offering 3D and graphic approval, alongside a fully mobile friendly refresh to the WEBcnx interface. There was also a preview of the entirely new bill of materials (BOM) solution, scheduled to be available as part of the Impact 2019 R2 release coming later this year.
Presentations were also given by Arden’s partners including Kodak, Bobst, Zund, Hybrid Software and Blanking Systems, who were able to demonstrate how their products could be used together with Impact to enhance performance and improve workflow.
Attendee Scott Miller, from the Packaging Corporation of America, said, “Everything about the conference was spot on. This is an experience that I look forward to for years to come. I am very excited about the new features coming out and being able to work with Arden and have input on the future of the programmes.”
Arden’s next Peak Performance Conference is expected to take place in 2021. Find out more at the company’s website.
