UK-based Varsity Packaging has confirmed two recent appointments. Ian Bedwell has been promoted to General Manager after 23 years in the company. He became part of the Varsity team in 1996 coming from Warren Board, whom he joined straight from school. Ian spent nine years as an integral part of the Warren sales team in Henley-on-Thames before moving to the Varsity offices just outside Reading. He is a complete professional, who has a deep knowledge of the cartonboard industry. His ability to understand customers’ needs is second to none and he is very much looking forward to embracing this far wider role within the business and now heads up the Varsity team on the day to day running of the company.
Tina Evans joins the Varsity team as a Key Account Manager and given her wealth of experience, will be a fantastic addition to the already highly experienced team of professionals. Tina joined Metsä Board in 1990. By 1995 she was a key account manager for sales to both Carton and Graphical Board customers. After a short period with Board Solutions as an Area Manager, Tina joined Hedsorboard in 2004 as Greetings Cards Sector Manager covering all of the UK. In 2008, Tina was promoted to Branch Sales Manager effectively running the Premier Hedsor business.
