Nosco, Inc., the U.S.-based full-service supplier of printed packaging, has expanded its operations by doubling production capabilities for digitally printed cartons. The company has now installed a second HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press for folding carton production, making Nosco the first in the world to achieve this milestone. The new press was installed and begun operation in August 2016 at Nosco’s ‘Digital On_Demand Solutions Center’ in Bristol, PA.
Nosco has been a digital print industry leader for the past 11 years. This is due in part to its cutting-edge equipment. Nosco is believed to have been the first print operation in North America to offer customers packaging designs created on the HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press. Nosco says it is the only carton converter in the world to run operations with two of these devices. These two machines join a fleet of six other digital label printers.
The HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press helps Nosco provide customers the high-level quality, colour consistency, reduced lead-times, serialisation and personalisation the company has developed. The device is equipped with a UV/Aqueous Coater and Vision Inspection for static and variable copy. While Nosco has served the healthcare packaging market for many years with conventional printing technologies, the company credits the device with attracting new customers in Healthcare and other markets.
This increased demand from new customers and new markets encouraged the company to invest in the second digital press for folding cartons. Russ Haraf, President of Nosco, says, “This investment has helped us shorten lead times, while expanding our capacity to offer customised, short to medium run order quantities and supports the growing need for serialised and personalised packaging. Our long-term partnership with HP has been critical to our ability to bring digital print innovation to the marketplace.”
“Nosco has experienced tremendous success with the HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press and we are proud to help them continue their digital journey with the second installation,” said Alon Bar-Shany, General Manager, HP Indigo division. “With the two HP Indigo 30000 Digital Presses, Nosco is helping drive the analogue-to digital transformation for folding carton production and solidifying its position as a leading digital packaging provider for the healthcare industry.”
In addition to the second HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press, Nosco also added die-cutting and folder gluer equipment to support full carton production line. This production expansion supports a growing customer base and the need to provide one to one digital carton solutions.
