The opening of VPK’s new plant took place in Brzeg, Poland in the summer. This is another investment step for VPK in Poland and is important for the growing number of customers served by the plant in Radomsko. The total production and warehouse area is 22,000 sqm.
Jacek Kryszkiewicz, Managing Director, VPK – Poland, commented, “The new plant allows us to increase the production capacity for our customers from Poland and abroad by 60m sqm. The scale of the investment strengthens our business position and provides our customers with more modern and effective production capabilities.”
Modern Machinery
The factory has been equipped with machines such as a Mitsubishi EVOL and a BOBST 2.1 Mastercut and Masterflex. Additionally a waste collection line with transport to a waste paper baler, a palletiser, de-palletiser, automatic strapping and foil wrapping machines, a fully automatic ink kitchen, as well as an ecological sewage treatment plant have also been installed. The space is modern, filled with energy-saving LED lighting and above all meets the highest standards of employee safety, including fire safety with sprinkler system covering the entire area.
“The newly launched production lines are fully automated,” added Bartosz Nimsz, Plant Manager – Brzeg. “The transporting lines will deliver board directly from the corrugator to the converting machines, using a Minda automated transport system, eliminating unnecessary internal transport with forklifts – this will increase work safety and optimise the flow of raw materials. Thanks to this solution, we will reduce excessive storage as well.”
Perfect Location
The new factory is located in the Special Economic Zone in Skarbimierz. This space is undoubtedly conducive to investments. Geographically, the company is finally present in the region, which contributes to shortening the distance to potential customers located in the south-west of Poland. There is also an opportunity to establish co-operation with customers in the Czech Republic and Germany. At the moment, 120 people work in Brzeg, VPK plans to employ an additional 60 and more as the machine park develops. The scale of the investment favours the perception of VPK as an attractive and trustworthy employer in the region and an important business partner for current and future customers.
