A Quantum leap for Scotton

Founded in 1974, Borso del Grappa, Treviso-based Scotton SpA is a leading Italian manufacturer of high quality, decorative graphics packaging. The company has been designing and manufacturing standard and customised gift boxes made of folding carton and laminated corrugated board, clear boxes, favour boxes, Christmas packaging, bottles and pastries and so much more. From small, personal gift boxes, through to specialised heavy duty packaging for furniture – no job is too big, nor too complex.

Global Appeal

Thanks to one of the most innovative and creative design studios, Scotton invent shapes and colours with the highest level of finishing and exclusive embossing. Just like a fashion house, they take care of the smallest details, and do not just manufacture simple boxes, but rather real containers of emotions. With dedication to its products and its customers, Scotton is proud to be a manufacturer that champions the label ‘Made in Italy’.

Having created a name for itself in Italy as a leading producer, the company supplies graphical packaging to customers throughout Europe and Scandinavia. It also services customers in the Americas, Asia, Australasia and the Middle East – this is truly a global supplier of high quality packaging to a wide range of industry sectors.

In House Control

Scotton’s production structure encompasses all raw material and converting processes. With careful attention to choice of raw materials, through corrugation, litho-laminating, litho print, embossing, cutting & creasing, folding and gluing through to warehousing and final despatch, Scotton pays close attention to every single stage of production, sharing the common denominator of qualitative excellence.

In fact, at the service of Scotton’s technical know-how and experience, the state of the art, highly automated technological resources guarantee control and precision during each production stage.

Corrugating Excellence

As part of the company’s ongoing investment strategy, it recently installed a new 1.8m Quantum corrugator to help enhance board quality and output volume. The line features a doublewall wet-end and a double level dry-end.

As a result of its interesting and revolutionary production process, the Quantum has created a clear market space for itself, excelling particularly in speciality applications where conventional corrugator lines have limitations in terms of productivity, board quality and waste control.

Thanks to the completion of re-engineering projects on existing product ranges, in parallel with brand new R&D developments, Quantum Corrugated has been able to adopt Fosber’s well-established wet-end and dry-end solutions to meet each plant’s output and budget requirements, as well as optimising the efficiency and efficacy of overall spare parts and technical support services for its customer base.

With an eye on key industry issues, especially sustainability, the combined Fosber and Quantum R&D teams ensured that the latest generation of machine puts a very big ‘tick in the box’ from an environmental point of view. Lighter weight papers, lower starch consumption and less energy requirement all result in the ultimate in ‘green’ production, from the lightest single face through to heavy doublewall board.
