Swanline Paper and Board (SPB) has collaborated with Swedish paper mill, Oppboga Bruk AB, to launch a water resistant outdoor display board that does not use a polyethylene (PE) coating to achieve its impermeable properties. Marketed exclusively in the UK under SPB’s Cygnus brand of packaging and display products, Cygnus Outdoor Display contains up to 60 per cent recycled fibre, is FSC certified and is 100 per cent recyclable. Its innovative paper fibre composition enables resistance to moisture, even compared to less ecologically sound PE coated alternatives.
SPB’s Managing Director, Ross Griffin explains, “Cygnus Outdoor Display is the most exciting new product development I have seen in 25 years of industry involvement. The partnership between Oppboga and SPB demonstrates our commitment to develop, implement and market eco-friendly alternatives without compromise on quality and cost.”
Oppboga has a strong market presence for two-side coated boards; it has been producing these for over a century. Cygnus Outdoor Display board retains the benefits of two side coating to facilitate exceptional print quality without deterioration on both sides of the material.
Oppboga’s Managing Director, Andrew Robinson says, “We are delighted to offer exclusive UK distribution rights to SPB for this innovative new material and we are sure that its distinctive credentials will have a significant impact in sectors currently relying on plastic or PE coated alternatives.”
Now available exclusively in the UK in calipers of 830, 1500 and 2200 microns in bespoke or stock sizes up to 1700 x 3600mm, Cygnus Outdoor Display joins the wider portfolio of Cygnus branded products available from Swanline Paper and Board for the corrugated packaging and Point-of-Sale sectors.
