Classic Litho + Design, Inc. recently hosted an open house to highlight how its Speedmaster CD 102-6+L with X-Package and DryStar UV can provide faster turnaround times and enhanced quality for its wide range of customers in Southern California and beyond. The DryStar UV technology will allow the printer to tap into the rapidly expanding packaging market and offer more applications across its portfolio. “With this enhancement, we have set our sights on increasing sales volume by 100% within the next 24 months,” said Darioush Nikravan, Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “After being in production [with the new press] just over seven months, we are confident that we will be able to achieve that goal.
“The CD 102-X is exceeding our expectations. So far, we’ve increased our productivity by 30%, and we are confident that we will further improve that to 60% in the future,” Nikravan said.
The open house included live equipment demonstrations, technology seminars, a full tour of the company’s newly remodeled facility as well as a ribbon cutting ceremony performed by the mayor and chamber of commerce. Over 150 attendees witnessed the production of two 28 x 40” posters printed on 100lb. gloss text; one with a dull varnish and spot gloss UV, the other with a flood gloss coating.
During the event, the commercial printer also highlighted its enhanced prepress department equipped with a new Suprasetter A106 as well as its extensive workflow including Prinect Color Toolbox for secure and reliable color calibration, and Prinect Pressroom Manager, which offers complete integration between the pressroom and other areas of the print shop.
Installed in April, the Speedmaster CD 102-6+L replaced an older Speedmaster SM 74, and runs alongside an existing CD 102-8+L, Suprasetter A106, and a range of Stahlfolder and POLAR postpress solutions. The company also uses a wide range of Heidelberg’s Saphira consumables including blankets, coatings, plates, and inks for enhanced quality and performance.
