Premier Folding Carton, a division of SJS Packaging, in Cincinnati, Ohio is reaping the cost-effective benefits of Heidelberg’s Promatrix 106 CS diecutting machine. Installed in July, the Promatrix replaced an older, competitive diecutter, and was the first of its kind to be installed in the United States.
“The Promatrix is exceeding our expectations across the board, and we consistently run at near maximum speeds,” said Barry Schwartz, President. “We have significantly increased our productivity and capacity, and drastically improved our makeready times.”
With an output of up to 8,000 sheets per hour and short setup times, the Promatrix 106 CS stands for productivity and cost-effectiveness — matching the format of Heidelberg’s flagship Speedmaster XL 106 press. It can handle substrates from 65-lb. text to 48-pt. board, and has a maximum sheet size of 29.92 × 41.7.
The strategic partnership between Heidelberg and Masterwork (MK) is specifically designed to provide customers with a well-rounded range of cost-effective postpress packaging solutions. “Premier Folding Carton is a perfect customer for our Promatrix 106 CS, and we are very excited for their success with this machine,” said Joerg Daehnhardt, Vice President, Postpress, Heidelberg USA. “The makeready automation coupled with its reliable production has proven to be a profitable solution for their business. We are thrilled to have Premier Folding Carton be the first in the US to integrate this diecutter into their environment, and look forward to continuing this partnership.”
