The Schumacher Packaging Group has taken over three packaging service providers – Konverdi GmbH and Konverdi Copacking GmbH in Germany and Nypack s.r.o. in the Czech Republic, expanding its scope of services in the area of co-packing, as well as special and composite packaging. Thanks to this integration, the packaging specialist will now offer even more flexible services up to the point of sale, as well as composite packaging and special designs for the automobile and machine construction sectors. Furthermore, an innovative compostable frozen-food packaging for online food retail is currently being developed in the new Czech factory.
Konverdi GmbH and Konverdi Copacking GmbH will operate under the names of Schumacher Packaging Services GmbH and Schumacher Copacking Services GmbH. With 70 employees and an annual turnover of around €10 million, Konverdi serves all sectors, including food, cosmetics and consumer goods. Michael Marquardt, the previous owner and Managing Director of Konverdi, will continue to manage the company as a co-shareholder.
Nypack s.r.o. will trade under the name of Schumacher Packaging CZ s.r.o. Currently employing 35 people and generating an annual turnover of €4 million, Schumacher Packaging has already worked successfully with Nypack for several years and now holds a fifty per cent share in the company. With this takeover, Schumacher Packaging is complementing its portfolio with triple-flute heavy-duty corrugated board and composite packagings made of corrugated, foam and wood.
