Rengo has confirmed it has acquired a 25% stake in Rengo Packaging Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (RPM), a corrugated subsidiary located in Shah Alam near Kuala Lumpur, from Thai Containers Group Co Ltd. Through this acquisition, RPM has been made a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rengo.
The corrugated packaging business in Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, is an important strategic focus for the overseas operations of the Rengo Group as a ‘General Packaging Industry’. Rengo has said it will work to further enhance its supply system within the region.
